Taking to the air, again...

I will be away for a few days, traveling with Dr. Niece to Kansas City. The occasion is a sad one, the passing of a dear brother-in-law, but we will enjoy being together with family.
I hope you enjoy these desert blooms from the neighborhood, in my absence!

Pacific Coast Native Iris (I think...)

Very bright orange prickly pear cactus!

Close up of a very tall plant that reminds me of Christmas Cactus...

...by a 6 foot wall for perspective!

Back next week, hopefully with some completed travel projects!

Beautiful cactus -- that tall one is amazing. Can't wait to see what you have to show us when you get back.

So sorry to hear about your brother in law. :(

Loved the bloom pics, especially that gorgeous "tree" cactus. I've never seen anything like it before. The native iris looks similar to a wildflower we had in Colorado, a mariposa lily.

When you get back and need something to cheer you up, come visit the blog for pics of baby bears in my yard.

Take care.
